Who/what is Bustaphoto?

The story of Bustaphoto began in high school, when my world revolved around aggressive skating and photography. At just sixteen, I had big ideas, endless curiosity, and a camera that rarely left my hands. Hundreds of film rolls were shot, gear was tested and destroyed, all in the name of capturing motion and moments in the light.

Those early years led to recognition for film at the Miami Children’s Museum (2004 & 2005). Also in photography with a Gold Key Award for the Portfolio Scholastics National Exhibition in 2005 exhibited at both MAM in Miami and MoMA in New York. But even then, Bustaphoto was still evolving.

I dove into the world of event photography, documenting sports, weddings, quinces, bar/bat mitzvahs, and corporate events each filled with emotion moments and challenging situations… Still, I knew there was more to explore. My journey took me to Miami Ad School, where I studied Fashion and Editorial Photography, refining my craft and learning how to use imagery as a powerful advertising and marketing tool.

From there, I branched into the corporate world, crafting visual stories that connected brands and audiences — all while creating my first documentary, “Graffiti In/Out”, a depiction of the early graffiti scene in Wynwood that won Best Indie Film at O’ Cinema. In 2018, I moved to Los Angeles, diving deep into the music and drone scenes, producing videos, live streams, and even hosting live music events.

Now back home in Miami, Bustaphoto has come full circle a blend of experience, creativity, and constant evolution.

I am Bustaphoto

I like to think of a photographer as a true inspector of light and creator of moments that are both memorable and unique to the situation, regardless of the content or subject matter.
